BLEEDING ROSES RECORDS PRESENTS:
its back and better than ever! Tell Your Friends Vol. 2 submissions are now live!
What is Tell Your Friends? Its an in-house compilation album, featuring 12 local PNW bands of various genres and musical styles. Recorded at no cost to the band, this yearly project aims to inspire creativity, DIY culture, and community.
Recorded in one day. No gimmicks, studio tricks, autotune, alignment tricks…and no worries about how much its gonna cost.
Why? Because sometimes money is what holds us back from getting “that one song” out there. The weird one, or the forgotten one….or that track you wrote when you first formed the band but never found a home for. Or maybe, you’ve never had the chance to record at all.
Click the button, tell me a bit about your music, and hopefully I’ll throw some mics in your face soon.

WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
Bleeding Roses Records was founded on the principle that music should be accessible to EVERYONE. Part of this means breaking down the financial barriers and wasteful business practices that keep most of us from ever being able to attempt recording. DIY has come a long way as well - Together we can make amazing things happen. This is my attempt to prove that to you, while also having some fun making some noise!
This unique recording experiment strives to show off your band in the most authentic, genuine way possible. No studio tricks, no gimmicks, no auto-tune, no locking to the grid….Just YOUR unique sound. Bring your amps, your drums, your efx, and your amazing ideas and creativity. With this record, we hope this fun annual event will also inspire other local musicians to hit the garage, basement, or bedroom studio and get their music out there!

FAQs
-
I’m just gonna answer the big one first:
Yes, it’s 100% free to the artist. -
Your Gear! Bring your guitars, basses, and amps, pedalboards, and drumkit! My goal is to capture a sound true to your band. Pack up like you would for a show! (mics, cables, etc all provided here, but it doesnt hurt to have everything youd need to hook your rig up just in case)
-
It's somewhat on a case-by-case basis, however, most sessions only take 4 to 6 hours and end with a completed track. If major fixes are needed, or if we didnt quite finish things, a second retake session can be allowed.
-
When its done! There’s no set release date for Vol. 2 yet - but expect it to be early summer again. As always, you will own your song, and all rights to it. For the sake of the compilation, Bleeding Roses Records will release thje music as a pseudo-white-label situation, and pay out royalties and sales per year.
Its only exclusive to the compilation until the compilation is released. That means, youll get the master track and can do whatever you want with it after! Put it on your LP, release it as a standalone single, or throw it away and never listen to it again. -
You will own all rights to your music, your master track, and all songwriting credits, as per usual. Bleeding Roses Records will release the music with the artists permission (somehwat like a label) and pay out streaming royalties per year.
So…keep it under wraps until the compilation is released. After that, you are free to do whatever you want with your master track!

BLEEDING ROSES RECORDS PRESENTS:
Premiering 11 unique acts from Portland and the PNW - Tell Your Friends is Portland’s first and only compilation album recorded, mixed, and mastered fully in house.
The goal was simple: spend one full night in the studio, without the tricks, gimmicks, auto-tunes, AI, meticulous re-tracking….and leave with a track that is a unique, raw take on the bands and their music.
There’s something about that “demo magic” - and sometimes I feel like DIY records capture that magic, and give life to music in a way a million dollar studio couldn’t replicate. I wanted to create an opportunity for musicians to be able to try a new idea without the pressure or stress of a ticking clock or expenses.
Bleeding Roses Records is, and always will be about Community, Accessibility, and DIY culture. This yearly compilation, is one of many ways I plan to give back to the music community in the Pacific Northwest
